In January 2026, Robin O’Brien, Program Director of ASL Arizona Total Immersion, reached out to me through a referral from someone I knew.
Robin had already purchased a Wix plan based on a recommendation, but she was not able to build the website herself. She needed the site completed quickly so she would have time to promote the immersion retreat taking place that summer.
The website included information about the program, registration, payments, instructors, and other details participants needed before the retreat.
The registration process also included different pricing phases, including an early bird price. I originally built the form based on what I thought Robin needed. Once she started using it, I realized the format did not work the way she needed it to.
Robin was not familiar with Wix and needed a process that did not require her to manage forms or perform additional work inside the platform. I asked more questions about how she wanted registration and payments to work, then changed the setup around her needs.
This project reminded me that a website can work technically and still not work for the person using it. Not every client wants or needs to learn another platform. Sometimes the better solution is the one that removes work and gives the client more time to focus on their program.
