Why I love photography

By Jennifer Friede

ISD quarterback during a football game.

A photo tells a story. That’s what I love about photography, especially when I’m photographing sports.

I notice the effort, the expressions, and the emotions. The joys and sorrows of the game. There’s a lot happening, and I want to capture those moments so people can look back and remember.

When I photograph the same players over time, I get to see them grow. Every game gives me something different to notice. Photography lets me stay involved in sports while creating memories I can share.

It’s been a learning process for me, too. It took me a while to get here, but I got here. I know I have more to learn about photography.

For now, I’m happy to keep showing up with my camera and seeing what each game brings.
